Hey there everybody....sitting here in the bowels of yet another
hockey arena, a few hours before our show tonight. ( we're in Albany at the
moment). I thought I'd write to apologize to all the people that came out to
Columbus and didn't get a chance to see us play. I really wish we could have
made it, but I was sick as all hell and there was no way I was gonna jump up
on stage only to lose it from both ends in front of 18,000 people.
Here's what happened.....
The night before, Taylor, Chad Chilli, Chris, and I went out for this
MTV news thing that they're gonna show this weekend. It was awesome, we went
to this killer Karaoke bar and sang for ,like, 2 hours. We got back to the
hotel at about 4 am (not unusual) and hit the sack. Woke up at around 8
o'clock feeling unusually good. That lasted for about an hour, and then I
started getting progressively worse as the day went on. By about 3 pm I was
super sick, with fever and chills etc etc etc.......without getting too
graphic, I had a pretty gnarly stomach flu that lasted a few days. We played
last night, and it wasn't horrible, but I think I've finally got my energy
back today. I was pretty weak for a day or two, eating mostly just bananas
and toast, but I think I might be back on track by now.
So for all the people that think it was a hangover, let me tell you
this....if hangovers were that bad, we'd all quit fucking drinking ASAP. I
wish we could've played, since I have a lot of family and friends in Columbus
(lived there for the first 2 years of my life) and I promise we'll make it up
to you all somehow. But I'm sure the Chilli's kicked it and you all went home
happy.
See you all out there soon!!!! Dave
