Do you think it will actually be called 'Album 8'?

It sounds like the new album will be pretty damn diverse. Influences from "hip hop and soul-inflected blues... a dash of country rock." And banging out big choruses in the middle of instrumental sections. I can't wait to hear this album! Surprises galore by the sounds of it!

They've been repeating themselves from day one more or less. They aren't exactly the kind of band that moved into a different direction musically or experimented like most bands that have been around for this long. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, though, but I'm curious to hear if this time around they might have

As long as it's not their version of Queen's Hot Space they'll be fine.

The more I hear about this album the more I start to worry.

The comments section on Taylor's latest article on the AV Club basically shows that some people dislike the band for being 'bland rock' or not being experimental. In other words, they've only heard the singles or they only like bands that do a 180 somewhere down the line.

Unless Dave breaks out that synthesizer soon, I doubt that will happen though!

Eggzactly ... I'll take 12 tracks, with 4 that others think are filler ... they can have their 8 and I'll listen to all 12!

Well we finally have at least an unconfirmed reference to a month anyway.

Have to say I found these two NOLA reviews really good. If the album has half as much impact as this show seemed to have on everyone involved I feel we're in for something pretty incredible, despite the understandable doubt about the mix of genres.

Well as I said earlier the date of the first jam could have been November 1st or 2nd.

Just hope it early November rather than towards the end of it.

Well it will be if they're sticking to the anniversary for the release. The first jam can't have been much later than the first few days of November based on what he said at Storytellers.

Although there is one more possibly significant date in November. Years ago (2005ish) the blackbox on FF.com was updated to include a date for the very first live show, November 30th 1994.

Now we since know that date isn't correct, the first live performance was February 19th 1995 but what was the November date? You'd think it came from somewhere, and if it wasn't the date of the live show perhaps it was the first proper rehearsal?

Assuming there will be singles, we'll at least get those (and hopefully some tour dates?) before November.

Mmm, tour dates! So anyone any guesses as to the first single/video will appear?

Well...

'Rope' released February 2011
'Rope' video released March
'Wasting Light' released April

I think most previous first songs/albums have been about the same, so personally I would expect to hear the first single in full somewhere around September/early October.

Just noticed the large "LP8" in the upper corner.
