Memphis Rehab Trains - title of poem by Jacki Lee Williams
My home is in Houston Texas but I wrote a poem while I was in detox for two months in Memphis. I love the Foo Fighters and would like to know if they need a song.
I was on methadone and taking interferon treatments for the past year.
I did not know how sick I was until I broke down. I spent two months in bed in the drug and mental rehab and four months in bed at home before rehab.
Losing everything has opened my eyes to the drug problem in the US.
A dark garment that covers the world - drugs steal the mind.
I will not lie - I need an income. I paint, write, photgraphy, flyfish, backpack and love the sun.
My goal is to settle my debts and move to the Yucatan. I crave the sun and water. Almost dying has changed how I see things. The Hep C kept me in the dark house but now my blood is coming back- all my blood levels became very low. It felt like dying.
Rehab was more painfull than climbing Mt. Rainier and that was hard.
I was in the La Paloma Drug and Mental rehab in Memphis Tenn. from 4/15/ - 6/13/2010.
