I'm going to have to bring a bag of some description - car keys, house keys, oystercard, money, etc!

I wonder if there will be a metal scanner - there was at the Antwerp gig?

This is the same policy as they had for the Rolling Stones

I thought the organisation of it was the worst I've ever seen at a gig bar the fiasco for the foos at 02 Arena last year.

No bags - most people adhered but some people didn't get the memo and they had problems getting in and I think some people had to chuck their bag away.

Security - I missed most of Liam Gallagher waiting to get in - about an hour. There wasn't even airport style security or bags to check! They just did a pat down but the queue moved v slowly.

Getting out of the venue - managed to get stuck behind the whole crowd and it took 1 and a half hours to make the 5-10 minute walk to Stratford station. They funnel you a long way round and it takes forever.

I know alternative routes have been posted but I wish I was more familiar with the park and what alternative stations are good to walk to other than Stratford.

True...they might not be using all of them? Didn't think of that.

Anyone who has been to a gig at this stadium...are wristbands given out at the Bridges, stadium gates?

No the rolling stones were even stricter bags no bigger than 13 x 23cm,
It's a pain yes but if it prevents terrorist attacks then I am all for it

yeah, we had our small umbrella and small sun cream bottle taken away from us at the Stones gig...it was one of those Englsh weather days where it chucked it down all morning/afternoon and then got really hot just in time for the concert!

As you pass the security on the bridges you get given a wristband.

The bars within the stadium on the pitch are piss poor - go out back onto the island or back to where the entrances are into the stadium and you will be able to get served quicker - know its a pain in the neck but its the easiest solution.

For getting out there are other stations.... hackney wick, going to stratford international, and also its about a 30 minute walk to Leyton station (1.6miles). Edit: also Pudding Mill Lane.

Bit annoying, I have to take a bag as I'm diabetic and if I'm going anywhere where I might eat/drink/burn energy etc I have to have my fun kit with me. Its not massive, but too big to fit in a tiny bag on its own without a phone/credit card/house keys. No bag is a nice ideal in practice but reality doesnt really work if you have a health condition! Gonna ring them... This could be annoying.

should be OK if the bag isn't too big, you'll just have to queue to have it searched like normal

Our friend Anne had lots of medicine at Antwerp, she got in fine but as others have said might just take a bit extra to search.

Btw - so flippin excited for today. Im not queuing. Feels almost wrong. (missing you April and Dave!)

Don't suppose anyone has a hotel booking not needed for Saturday's gig? My son and his mate have decided they now want the 2 extra tickets I got for them and to stay up there, talk about leaving it late! My missus and I are staying at the Premier Inn but think that is fully booked or at least silly prices.

Can't help with a hotel, but in case you weren't aware we have 24 hour tube on most lines on weekends. If they're ok with travelling on their own could look at places outside stratford. Anything in the area might make you cry!
