Mega Pissed. I was under the impression they'd start writing again this year, and the had a hiatus just before the last album anyways.

I'm not going to lie - I'm a bit bummed even a week later. I just love having some FF related event on the horizon to look forward to whether it's a new release, concert, festival, SNL appearance, whatever. But I'm selfish that way and I doubt that's going to change.

On the other hand, I respect a band that knows when it's time to take a break - especially one with a leader that thrives on energy and creativity. The TCV period certainly seemed to new passion from all of them and we reaped the benefit. To me, Dave's "I don't know what's next" announcement came as a suprise because it seems like he's always got 10 irons in the fire but different isn't always bad. Being open to whatever is next and having no idea what it might be is one of my favorite adventures - I'll try to keep this in mind while waiting for their next inspiration.

Just don't keep me waiting too long...please.
Thanks for the first 18 years - they've been amazing.

I've has about five people this week telling me the Foos were splitting. I had to lecture every single one of them. And a few other people told me about he break, which was fine, although did they really think I didn't know already?

Anyway, hope the band enjoys the break, if they still remember how to not be on tour... Can't wait for all the side projects, especially SC next year!

Hi My name Shelley from CT.. I went to Bamboozle and saw Foo Fighters for the very first time and was amazed that I knew some of your songs but didnt know it was you..lol My bad.. Upon reading your letter about your hiatus I just have to tell you the profound effect you had on my life and that sometime I have the privilege to see the Foo Fighters in concert again someday..

Last October I went thru a devastating break-up, I was pretty lost for awhile.. As i was trying to get over it I started to buy tickets for concerts because of my love for music.. I saw Bamboozle and didnt really want to go that far but had some good bands Blink 182 one of them.. But Blink was going to Mohegan Sun the casino in CT and I bought tickets for my son and I (who also was so great to me during this time) But they canceled and we were so disappointed. But my son remembered that they were going to Bamboozle and that maybe we could go there instead anyway.. Well let it be said that his favorite band replaced Blink 182 and it was My Chemical Romance. I have to admit he begged quite nicely..lol So we bought the tickets..

It was nice I have to admit the ocean breezes, drinking a beer listening to some great music from some good bands.. I even got offered to be picked up to people surf..um NOT..lmao But when FF came on and sang I have to tell you that it just made me realize that I had forgotten myself and your music had inspired me to be me again.. I dont know, when I tell people how i feel they think im nuts and thats ok.. But i just wanted to tell you how I felt..

And know that for all of the hundreds of thousands of people that you have played for and sang to, know that for me, you have changed and reminded me of who I am.. And now I am stronger, better, and also happier than I have been in along time..

So take your break and I hope to see you again sometime in the future in or around CT. Because I will be there for you as you have been there for me. And if not I am thankful that I bought all your CDs...lol

A Heartfelt Thank You for being an awesome group..

Shelley Sher CT

Hey dave what's up!.......I haven't been here in a while, lol. Yeah anyways I wanna say a big thank you guy's for totally pulling off a kickass tour playing two shows in one year, last year, rocking your damn balls off! one at goat island, which was fucking awesome cause it was recorded live and I got to hear all the songs from wasting light, and later that year when you guys played the big as soccer stadium they got planted located in redfern, sydney, it totally rocked my entire fucking year last year (which wasn't that long ago haha) and I just thank you guys for playing here with a frekin killer record, wasting light, which is one of the most killer records I've heard in a while, also one I can strongly relate to. I also look forward to hearing your new project you got in plan. You guys continue to inspire me each and every time and I totally honor you dave. Cheers!.

Dude, there are other bands that you can focus on during this little break. Personally, I am stoked I just got notified that Chris's band is playing in LA soon. Also Muse is touring with Band of Skulls. I am not cheating on Foo. This break makes me a better fan.

It's ok to go out and like other people. Just make sure you come back here when they start things up.

Bitches be crazy.

I have to watch Trent Reznor speak on Sunday. I don't know if I'm going to make Chris's show. This is what is called a "high class problem."

Yes, in fact I'm really excited about getting to go to see Muse at the O2 on the 26th. Whatever projects they're all up to between now and then will surely be worth it anyway.

Brilliant that Dave and the boys are taking a break. Of course we're all going to miss them but when they come back, we'll all reap the benefits.

Dave needs to look after his voice and give it a break otherwise he's going to wear it out completely. I want to see the Foo Fighers peforming for at least another ten years! Somebody on the site compared the Foos as the modern day Rolling Stones. I think this is totally true. I've seen the Stones 14 times since 1975 and I never thought anybody could come close to better them live.

WRONG!!!! Seen the Foos 8 times and they are my favourite band ever. I have never seen any band give so much when playing live. Dave makes you feel that he really is giving everything, every single time he goes out and plays. You feel that connection every single time and you know and feel that something special is occurring.

This intensity cannot be continued without a break so take your foot off the live pedal for a while Dave. Re-charge and we know that you'll be back with more of the same and better.

Thanks for the inspiration and hope that you have given me. Can't wait for the next time. Enjoy your break!
