Cool Has anyone else paid attention to IYH: 'Still'?

Alright, so I was listening to 'Still' today, the first track off the Acoustic side of IHY... Has anyone else ever noticed how deep and metaphorical the track is? From a musical perspective, the lyrics are all concerning lost time/living and enjoying the moment before its gone.. Then Taylor starts cross-sticking. Has anyone noticed how the drums almost sound like a clock? even at the end of the chord progression, it sounds like the top of the hour... If this was intentional, its fucking brilliant. The song's always connected with me, thoughts?

I'm not one to look usually look too far into tracks, but hey, this one seemed far to obvious to me!

I find the accoustic disc much better overall than the electric disc. "Still" is a good track, though I haven't really put too much thought into what it means and all.

I remember seeing a video I believe on NME.com back in 2005 where Dave explained the songs on the IYH acoustic disc. I think I remember that "Still" was about Dave witnessing a suicide when he was young and still thinks about. Anyone else recall this? I tried searching the forum and NME.com, but to no avail.

Still is one of my favorites, supremely underrated. Of the handful of songs off In Your Honor that I've continued to listen to regularly, Still is probably at the top of the list

Yeah I remember Dave saying that he saw someone get hit by a train when he was a kid.

Yeah Still is a very good done indeed...
I don't think IYH Disc 2 is shit at all, I believe it's... OK
Still is a stand out, songs like Another Round and On the Mend can't be cast off as shit though, these are the 3 stand outs in my opinion

I appreciated these songs when the album came out, but really grew to love them a lot more when they did the acoustic orchestra tour. I felt like we were finally hearing them the way we were meant to be heard.

I felt the acoustic disk was amazingly beautiful at times, but its tarnished as it was released with the crapfest that was the rock disk.

Someone said on here, I think it was Thom, that it was almost like they were scared to release an acoustic disk on its own, thats why the rock disk was included. I wish they'd have released IYH as an acoustic only album, with a few more tracks.

Anyway, Still is a wonderful track that I adore.

It was on an XFM interview. I vaguely remember listening to dave and taylor at midnight doing a track by track playthrough when the album came out here.

Dave mentioned it being at a train track, and playing, as a child, with the debris left after the incident.

HaHahaha, I'm truly laughing here!

That "Crapfest" on disc 1
Had two number 1 and two number 2, Rock Singles in it...
And was why the album was nominated for: Rock Album of the Year!

Some people are just too critical. I'm just happy to be around at almost 60, to still be able to hear, and love another album by these guys...

I honestly think the only "not so great" song on IYH was "Hell" and it's only just over a minute long. That's over both discs. I went through a phase where I learned to play almost every song on the acoustic album.
