Default Memphis in May

Who's going? We found reserved seats, but no GA floor. I was on Ticketmster right at 10:00 a.m.

Ready for another mother of all road trips!

I'm in California and was able to buy tickets before 10am Pacific. This seems odd, but I'm not complaining. I got GA.

Thought of that later - total DUH moment. Felt good to think I was getting away with something for a minute, though.

My Ticketmaster window said 10 a.m. CDT and i couldn't get an order drop down until then. Regardless, I look forward to being there.

(Oh. Tennessee is CDT. Learn something new everahday!)

I'd have to slap some sense into anyone who doesn't approve.

How could you not get Little Rock tickets? I just checked on Ticketmaster and was able to get 2 floor tickets.

Tulsa's 2 hours away from me, L. Rock is 2 and a half to 3 hours, and Memphis is 4 to 5 hours.

My dad ordered the tix while I was at school and I just told him to pick which ones he wanted to go to (he's paying, after all ). I was hoping for just L. Rock at first, but now I'm glad that I'm going to Memphis. Memphis simply has more stuff to do, really.

As for Tulsa, I have a few relatives there, and if you can go somewhere a bit different than what you're used to, you might as well.

So unless we fly to Memphis, that's 12 to 14 hours of driving. My first time to go on a road trip with just me and my daddy

Ah, I thought you were saying no tickets were available. I was thinking of doing all three but it was just too much for me.

My daughter and I drove San Antonio to Denver to Vegas to Berkeley to see the Foo Fighters when she was only 7. Total round trip, about 5,000 miles. (I know, I post this way to often, but it's part of our personal mythology now).

San Antonio to Memphis is a mere 725 miles for us. 12ish hours. We'll see you on the road!

Road trips are so much fun..my dad took me to my first 3 foo shows, first was in Berlin, the other two in and around Cologne...so 10-12 hours of driving for each, in the middle of August in our old Skoda without air conditioning, with the radio that still had a wheel to tune, the growing anticipation as you got closer and closer...I'll never forget it.

Really wish I could do something like that again some time.

Ha ha! Glad to see I'm not the only one who looks at distances under 1000 miles and thinks, "Hell yeah, that's doable!" My personal best was St. Louis to Nashville for TCV, then leaving immediately after the show to drive straight through to Houston for Sunny Day Real Estate the next night. Saw that show and drove toward St. Louis for a couple hours before spending the night in a dive motel, then completed the drive home the next day, so that was a total of about 2000 miles.

My best so far is roundtrip from St. Louis to Indy in 1 day to see TCV. It was a long day but well worth it. This upcoming trip will be way longer.

That was so much fun...but didn't we go from STL to Chicago before we went Nashville for the TCV show? Adding yet even more miles to that road trip!?!?
