Foo Town Beer!!

"It’s not every day you get a call to say one of the biggest bands in the world wants to brew a beer with you. That first call, the first spark that ignited Foo Town lager, a beer brewed with rock ’n’ roll legends Foo Fighters, to celebrate their ninth studio album and ‘Concrete and Gold’ tour down under.

The hazy, easy-drinking lager will be available in super-limited edition cans from pop-up boozers running in Sydney and Melbourne alongside the tour. In Sydney, get a first taste of the Foo Town brew with the take-over of Surry Hills’ Hollywood Hotel, transforming it into the Foo Fighters Hotel from 24th–27th January. Next, Melbourne rock institution Cherry Bar becomes Foo Fighters Bar for four days: from 27th – 30th January.

Tinnies will be available for purchase after January 31st. STAY TUNED FOR A LIST OF STOCKISTS NEAR YOU!"

EDIT:
Thinking they seriously missed a trick not calling them the Foobar!

What was the soundcheck for Adelaide? Also did someone get a copy of the setlist?

All I can remember was White Limo sound checked. I was too busy trying not to get sun burnt/dehydrated.

The vibe last night wasn't as exciting as previous shows. Maybe I'm old. Maybe I've seen enough shows...

I appreciated the set list change up though!

One writer put it this way for a similar situation on the Sonic Highways tour...

http://www.citypages.com/music/homog...t-xcel-7593441

Some other trivia from Saturday night that shouldn’t be true, but is: 1) There were more songs from Wasting Light (four) trotted out Saturday night than songs from Sonic Highways. 2) There were more Van Halen covers played (three) than cuts from what is arguably their best album, 1999’s There Is Nothing Left to Lose (two). When Grohl announced earlier in the night, “We’ve been a band for 20 fucking years. I think we should play a song from each record,” it wasn’t yet apparent that he meant each record from the David Lee Roth era.

During the last leg of the US tour in the fall he was saying something along the lines of: 'We'll play something from the first album, and the second one, that was a good one, then the third album we like that one, and the fourth album that was ok, there will be something from the fifth and sixth albums, definitely from the seventh album, not the eighth album - that was fucked up, and some from the ninth album."

He said that at at least 3 shows I was at and sure enough they didn't play anything from SH.

Earlier in the tour they had been playing Something From Nothing and Congregation but dropped them pretty quickly.

I didn't mind at all. I'm not a fan of the album.

And covers have thankfully been dialled back. I'd even like more if Chris were to do Danny Says or Jawbreaker or literally anything. Maybe just reform JU k thanks.

If Dave needs a voice break, I'd rather that Chris and Taylor sing Foo Fighters songs (deep cuts) than covers. I'm there for the band's music.

I am totally fine with it - it's not got one song I couldn't get into and most of them I really like. Outside for me could be as permanently on a set list as any of the other stuff and I'd prefer it to a bunch that are ever-there.

I think it's the entire process and the fact it wasn't really an album designed as an album that has gotten to Dave - and I'm not even sure it has gotten to Dave or actually just gotten to where they THINK it's gotten to the fans and isn't worthy of being on the list because nobody wants to hear those songs vs the other albums (or are tired of them because it was the last release and all over TV etc).

They are now close to where they would have to start making choices even (IF) they wanted a set list of all singles because of the sheer amount of songs to pick from - so something has to go. The serious mind fuckingly painful part is they stick so (relatively) close to the same old choices over and over with very little variation.

My dream is that one day they get on stage and he says "I'm just so fucking tired of set lists - tonight we are just going to play you the first three albums and go home... "
