Not necessarily.

Adele also partnered with twickets and if you purchased via them you needed to take I.d. and confirmation that the tickets were now transferred to you.

That's great news!

Good spot! That'll be a Scottish, Irish and/or Welsh date coming then?

There will be no ID checks. They would have had to have published that as part of their terms and conditions before hand.

The twickets thing is nice but it doesn’t stop all those tickets being sold on the sites they are already listed on for inflated amounts.
This is a suggestion to play nice, people who make a living from touring will give zero fucks.

Yeh, it doesnt stop the touts but it is pointing fans who missed out on tickets to a 'safer' environment a step in the right direction!

Better off looking on Twickets a month or so before the gig (around the time the tickets have been sent out). People will have made their minds up about going/not going and selling their spares if they have them.

Twickets is the best place for getting a ticket at face value. Don't feed the touts!

http://foofighters.twickets.co.uk

And, more than likely, there will be a handful of tickets available for purchase closer to the time so keep checking Ticketmaster, Gigs and Tours etc. Set up a ticket alert if the websites have that function.

They did this for the O2 gig didn’t they

Many people chose to ignore this by selling tickets to unsuspecting victims.
Or just ignoring the terms and turning up with no ID.

So really it wouldn’t matter if it was in the terms and conditions, people would choose to ignore it, and then complain they didn’t get in

If they choose to add ID entry after purchase then I’m for it, I know they probably couldn’t legally, but if it beats the touts then its a good thing surely.

They should get the ticket outlets to earn their fees...
Maybe send out an email saying.....

Due to the amount of tickets on sites being sold at stupid prices we have decided to print the lead bookers name on all tickets and OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID will be required.
If the person who booked the tickets is not attending, please tell us the name you want on your tickets and this name will be printed on the tickets and they will need to bring ID.
You have 14 days to change the name on the tickets.

It won’t stop all of them, but should ruffle a few feathers.

Another note about buying tickets in the Terms and Conditions which you agree to on purchase it clearly states.

By ordering you agree that the tickets are for the personal use of you and your party only, and will not be resold or transferred. Any resale or attempt to resell the tickets at a price higher than purchased will result in your orders being cancelled without prior notification.

So if after ordering tickets they decide to tell you need to prove you are the person who purchased the tickets on arrival at the venue then, they would be well within their rights, so bring it on!

But that's very contradictory when the ticket seller offers there own fan-to-fan resale option?

Also some people have last-minute reasons for not being able to attend gigs. Why should they lose out on money if they know a fan who would appreciate going? I do agree things need to be changed but there has to be a better way.

Only 1reason I wouldn’t turn up, if I had died....
So I wouldn’t really care what happpend to my ticket then...

Take the O2 gig...
Day before I slipped and tore my calf muscle...
Monday night I decided I’m gonna crawl there if I have to...
Gig day strapped up and fuelled on Strongbowi made it standing up the front

Next day my leg below the knee was basically just a bruise
2weeks off work... but would I have even considered not going... NO WAY!

It is a sad situation we are in where you can't give a spare ticket to a friend. You can always get your money back on this fan to fan scheme though.

Sadly the touts don't care who they tread on to rip people off, and need to be given a lesson.
