So.....who's going to the MSG shows?

What are your plans? What hotels are you staying at? All the fun stuff!

My wife and I are going to the Tuesday show. First time I've seen the Foo Fighters OR been to MSG, so I am PRETTY excited! We're taking in the Weezer show the next night at Jones Beach Theatre too. Two bucket list bands in two days! We've been to NYC twice but we are by no means super familiar with the city. Are there any cool spots close to MSG where a fella could grab some cheap food and brews? ALSO, any rumours on an opening act yet?

If you like BBQ - Brother Jimmy's BBQ is really good, right across from the venue! Allow time to eat though

This will be my first time to see the Foo's and my first time in MSG although I've been to NYC once before. I'm super excited.

I'm thinking of taking the MSG tour on either the Monday or the Tuesday. We'd likely see the Foo's setting up (rather their gear, not them)

I’ll be there both nights and also going to the Weezer show the following day. I’m from NJ so not far from MSG and I’ve been there a few times. I’m not a fan of the venue as it is very overpriced. Where is everyone coming from? Would love to meet up with people from this board!

We're traveling from Prince Edward Island, on the East Coast of Canada for the show. Also hitting up Weezer the next night! I'm beyond pumped to be able to knock two bands off my bucket list in two days.

This is slightly off topic, but what are my best transportation options for getting from Manhattan to the Weezer show at Jones Beach and back?

I know where PEI is. I'm from Nova Scotia. Maybe we should try to meet up and work on a plan to get the Foo's to Magnetic HIll.

That’s awesome! Will you have a car? Driving is the best way to get to Jones Beach. You can take the LIRR train to Long Island, but I think you’ll need to transfer to a bus there since there’s no train station near the Jones beach theater. Sorry, I’m no help. I usually drive there.

Couple decent spots near MSG... someone already mentioned Brother Jimmy's which is good, and I believe takes reservations on open table which I highly recommend (or get there plenty early).

Other good pre-show bars are Stout (33rd St between 6 and 7th avenue), Mustang Harrys (7th ave between 29th and 30th streets), Tir Na Nog (irish pub next to brother jimmy's), and if its nice weather, Local (33rd and 8th) has a rooftop bar.

Enjoy your trip and the shows! Jones Beach is one of the best places on the planet to see a show! No joke, the sound is amazing as are the views.

There is no bus service for concerts, it runs for beach traffic only. You can get there, but you will need a ride (cab or Uber) to get back. I don't iknow what an Uber will cost, but a cab will be mucho$$. Get a price before getting into any cab. They don't go by a trip clock on Long Island.

Take the Long Island Railroad from NYC (Penn Station) to Freeport. Take the n88 bus, runs every hour.

We don't have tickets yet for MSG as we tried for GA during presale and regular sale but no luck. Will probably stubhubit but def going to MSG.

Carragher’s Pub & Restaurant (on 39th between 7th & 8th) is my go-to bar before MSG shows. It's reasonably close to MSG (about 6 blocks) but far enough away that it doesn't get too crazy crowded. Really good food too. I'll probably be in there before the Tuesday 7/17 show.
