Default Dave Grohl & Josh Homme

Anybody know how these guys met? From my understanding they've known each other since the early 90s.

I was reading that Josh dedicated a song to both Dave & Krist after Nirvana ended and was wondering how much earlier they knew of each other.

Thanks,

They met whilst he was still in Kyuss in around 91, can't remember where exactly but Dave thought they were 'rad', went to a show, they met up and it went from there.

He was just hired as a touring guitarist I believe. He and Lanegan became friends in those years and then obviously he left and formed QOTSA.

Like Studmore said, they met during the time Josh was in Kyuss. These two seem to have a great musical connection with each other. IMO, these are two of the best musicians around. It's great to have Them Crooked Vultures to exploit their musical connection more. Plus having John Paul Jones in a band must be awesome

Wonder when they will do that and how long they will tour. Looks like another TCV album/tour is several more years off than initially stated.

Remember after the first one came out, they were saying a second album would be released in less than a year? tick tock.

That's what happened, but according to Brody he is okay.

QOTSA has just started recording (accourding to Alain Johannes) so it may be a while before they even tour.
So the Vultures are on the back burner for now.
Though in a recent interview Alain said there were plans to record a second album, after QOTSA finished touring.
That is if JPJ isn't too busy.

You should watch this one, it's really funny: QOTSA singing Christmas songs on Anthony Bourdain
preview of QOTSA on Anthony Bourdain's 2007 Christmas special
