I can literally hardly breathe, the people I work with think i'm having some kind of mental breakdown. I'd pretty much given up hope for today but I've just managed to get a ticket for the Friday in block 110, see you all there!

Inevitable. All for sharing of the codes, privately, between actual fans but posting it in a public forum is a bit silly.

It just gifts the absolute stain on the music industry that is ticket touting.

We're close but not too close that we're watching from the side hopefully!

And you think a ticket tout wouldn't fork out £10 on a foos album to get a pre-sale code that could make them £100s, if not £1000s, in profit? No matter what systems are put in place, touts will win. Glastonbury festival is about the only tout-busting scheme I've seen work.

The issue is touts, not fans sharing codes.

I would post a link to the current government petition going round, for you all to sign - but as a 'newbie' Im sure Im not allowed to post links.

Wow. I refreshed the Saturday page regularly, and I managed to be able to buy one of those 108£ tickets that were sold out one hour ago.
Meaning that I have a spare ticket (block 212 row 62) now. I'll see what to do with it later (and in any case, no viagogo no ebay no-thing like that with me).

There seems to be a funny sense of entitlement floating about... If you pre-ordered the album you got the email and if you didn't... Then you didn't. Just because you've been a fan for a billion trillion years doesn't mean someone should give you the code and link. It could mean someone who did pre-order it doesn't get to go.
Its not like all tickets were sold today anyway, just means that some folks got first goes at buying them. And I realise I say that with tickets already in the bag so my stress has gone! Unless I want Manchester... Do I want Manchester...

They can work on a smaller scale (up to arenas) but for stadium shows it is harder to manage.

Iron Maiden and Metallica are two who are actively trying to stop it - especially for the arena shows - similar to what the foos did at the o2.

This is for metallica in the next week:
Quote:
This show requires the ticket purchaser to bring the payment card that was used to purchase the ticket(s) and photographic ID matching the name on the ticket(s) to gain entry to the event. All members of your party (in the same booking) must enter at the same time as the named booker in order to access the Event.
Edit: but in the short term it screws over people who try and buy from tout sites, until they wise up and stop then buying from them then it might help make a difference.

Same with me, I now have 2 extra GA tickets I'll be (hopefully) passing on to another fan at some point
