Looking at Amazon, it's out to download tomorrow & it look like it may be out on Spotify.

crazy theory but here goes with it anyway (highly unlikely as well I'd say)

what if the "free gift if spend over 30" on the uk shop for the pop up thing is a cd version of this - we know its being released on mp3, I know the chances of this happening are 0.0001% but just seems such a ridiculous idea that it could be true even if its chances are so slim.***

***disclaimer: don't get your hopes up, its just a wild theory that will most likely be shot down in flames when that stuff gets delivered without this

Lol! Wouldn't that be sweet! Highly unlikely they would press up cd's for something like this.If you saw the amount of keyrings they had last weekend you would bet your house that that will be the "prize"!

Is imploding better than exploding?

I think a lot of people would but it doesn't look like one is coming, at least not right now.

I'm telling you it's the UK Pop up store "prize" cunningly disguised as a throne keyring...

Can someone confirm/dis...confirm? these Wikipedia recording dates for Songs From the Laundry Room:

"Alone+Easy Target" February 16, 1991
"Big Me" March 1994
"Kids in America" February 16, 1991
"Empty Handed" 1992

These seem hard to believe. I've been under the impression that the only solo stuff Dave recorded while in Nirvana was the Pocketwatch album. These sound much more professional than that and why would these not make it on to that album? Or any early Foo Fighters B-side release?

Three out of four are correct, the wrong one is A+ET, that is Jan 92.

He did a lot of recording whilst in Nirvana, the vast majority of it in the houses he lived in with Barrett Jones, each given the Laundry Room moniker after the original one actually in a Laundry Room:

http://www.foofighterslive.com/recor...ory/studio.php

The idea was at the time he was just recording his own songs for fun, to see if he could do it, to hone his song writing skills etc. As for why they weren't used, well the idea with the S/T session was to take his best songs and record them all properly, in a 24-Track studio.

A couple were used, 'Ozone' and 'How I Miss You' for example.

Presumably, the Povketwatch stuff would sound just as good were it not copied from a crappy cassette tape. To get an idea how the real masters actually sound, this song was recording at exactly the same time as some of the songs which ended up on Pocketwatch. This is what Pocketwatch should sound like.

Or just listen to Marigold on the In Utero re-issue thingy, since it's the same recording as on PW. Although Barrett did include a lot of reverb in that 2013 mix. Quality wise though, it's very nice. Kids In America is also from the same session/recording day.

I was just thinking today that I hoped Songs from the Laundry Room would get the same treatment as Medium Rare, with a CD re-release. This thread got my hopes up and then crushed them.. :')

Thoughts of MDD never leaking were with good reason... Dave said they would never be released.
