Sometimes you can also discover some really awesome up and coming bands.
(And some are boring as bat shit )

I once saw an unknown band called The Vines open for You Am I. We know what happened there. It does happen from time-to-time. I've discovered some great Aussie pop punk bands by seeing them as supports so it's not always dire. Just lately I've seen the most boring, depressing bunch of support bands you can imagine. And if I have to listen to one more female singing through her nose I'm gonna scream.

Yeah like, when I saw Them Crooked Vultures a band i had never heard of opened, called Cairo Knife Fight. They were awesome but I kind of forgot about them till the opened for QOTSA a year later. Thats when I started to like them and then a month later they opened for the Foos! Now I'm a big fan! Check em out on Youtube if any of you like totally freaky awesome rock music, look for 'Cairo Knife Fight, Big Face'. Amazing.

I've said it before but I'll say it again: I'd *LOVE* You Am I to support but I know it's not happening (trust me, I really do know this for a fact). I doubt it will be anyone as awesome as that. Likely John Dove and his Magnificent Flatulence Orchestra or some crap like that.
A You Am I greatest hits set before the Foos.

hahaha -I was going to say if I hear Cairo Knife Fight one more time I may have to attempt to chew my own ears off....NOT a fan sorry!

I liked the Transistors though - the young Christchurch punks that opened for them in Auckland.

I have my tickets too by the way.. and if anyone wants embankments I have two spares ( managed to get field ones and I just want to recover cost of tickets )

I think I opted to pick up some of my tickets so I might go tomorrow to Ticketek and see if I can get them. Nothing in the mail for me yet either. I'm paranoid about them getting "misplaced" so when I'm not home I have someone at my place with instructions to check the mail as soon as they hear it arrive.

I think Ticketek just like torturing us. No one is at my place today so I bet they come and coz there's no one there to sign for them I'll have to pick them up at the post office on Monday. I don't know why I can't wait to have these in my hands. I'm just really excited about the whole thing I think.

Head Like A Hole would be great to open. Just saw them tonight - they had the place going mad.
