Default Complete List of Available Demos

With the recently surfaced demos of Monkey Wrench and Hey JP, I was looking to make sure my demo collection was up to date, yet I'm unable to find a complete list made recently. So, wanted to start with what I had and then update as we went. I am fairly certain that I am up to date now, but just to double check, here we go:

All My Life (MDD, incomplete)
Alone + Easy Target (1993)
Big Me (1993)
Burn Away (MDD, incomplete)
Butterflies (incomplete, roughly 2:45)
Come Alive (official release)
Come Back (MDD, full)
DOA (official release)
Down In The Park (1996, official release later)
Enough Space (1996)
Exhausted (1993)
Floaty (1993)
Gas Chamber (?, 1:03 length)
Good Grief (1993)
Halo (MDD, incomplete)
Have A Cigar (?, 3:58 length)
Have It All (MDD, full)
Hey, Johnny Park! (1996)
How I Miss You Instrumental (Allister Lob)
I'll Stick Around (Laundry Room Studios, 1994)
I'm Alone Again (1996)
If Ever (official release)
Instrumental #1 (Allister Lob)
Instrumental #2 (Allister Lob)
Lonely As You (MDD, incomplete)
Make A Bet Instrumental (Allister Lob)
Monkey Wrench (1996)
Mountain of You (?, 4:49)
My Hero (1996)
Once And For All (official release)
Onward Into Countless Battles (fairly certain it's not FF, what is it?)
Overdrive (MDD, incomplete)
Podunk Instrumental (Allister Lob)
Weenie Beenie (1993)
World (official release)

There is also Pocketwatch, which I know some people tend to include as FF demos. There also was a download of a cassette rip of rough mixes from S/T that included count-ins and very little studio chatter that surfaced several years ago, if I remember correctly. Hopefully we can fill in the gaps together! Is this list complete?

There's the original Foo Fighters demo that was circulating before the album was released. It's rough mixes of all twelve of the songs that ended up on S/T, Winnebago and Podunk, and Dave's solo version of Butterflies.

That must be what I was referring to, then. Just dug through about 6 boxes to find it. The version I got also included a lower-quality rip of a Gas Chamber demo, but figured that wasn't part of that session. Any idea what it might be from?

It was recorded around 1993, proabably around the same time Mountain of You was recorded.

I think you have all of them but i'll go through them all in chronological order anyway. (DG) = Dave solo.

Dec 90 (DG)
Pokey The Little Puppy
Petrol CB
Friend Of A Friend
Throwing Needles
Skeeter
Marigold

July 91 (DG)
Hell's Garden
Winnebago
Bruce
Milk

April 1992 (Allister Lob, instrumental)
Podunk
Make A Bet
unknown
How I Miss You
unknown

1992/1993 Laundry Room (DG)
Mountain Of You
Big Me
Alone + Easy Target
Exhausted
Good Grief
Weenie Beenie
Floaty
Ozone
Gas Chamber
Exhausted

January 1993, Rio, with Nirvana (Kurt on backing vox.)

Onward Into Countless Battles

October 1994, S/T session, rough mix
01. This Is A Call
02. I'll Stick Around
03. Big Me
04. Alone + Easy Target
05. Good Grief
06. Oh, George
07. Weenie Beenie
08. Floaty
09. Winnebago
10. X-Static
11. For All The Cows
12. Exhausted
13. Podunk
14. Wattershed
15. Butterflies

January 1996, X-Files session
Enough Space
Butterflies (cuts in)
I'm Alone Again
My Hero

November 1996, Laundry Room
Monkey Wrench
Hey, JP

January 2002, Conway Recording Studios

All My Life (clip)
Burn Away (clip)
Halo (clip)
Have It All
Lonely As You (clip)
Overdrive (clip)
Come Back

Then the officially released songs called 'demo' that you've already covered. I wouldn't consider either version of 'Have A Cigar' a demo, they were both finished studio tracks released as such. The second version was just more clinical and produced with Brian May.

The second version was ridiculous compared to the first version. SO cheesy.

This version of Ozone has surfaced? If so, I seem to have a hard time locating it, if anyone wouldn't mind nudging me in the right direction, that'd be much appreciated!

It's just the same version that was released on the I'll Stick Around single.

Indeed, of the bunch of songs Dave recorded between 1991 and 1993 with Barrett at the various Laundry Room Studios' Ozone is the only one officially released.

It's interesting looking over that list. After the first album era, no demos actually seem to ever surface. The MDDs weren't really demos, and some of the other demos are released b-sides. It shows how rare demos surfacing actually are. Dave went from making a hundred of copies of the Foo Fighters demo and practically handing them out to strangers to seemingly locking everything after the Bob Lang '96 session in a bank vault.

I've always thought that, FF have done exceptionally well keeping all their demo stuff to themselves when you consider how many they must have done we don't know about.
