That's nice and all, but if you live next door or close to a band rehearsing in their garage and you have to listen to that every day, it's not really that cool anymore, especially not if you have young kids. I'm a musician myself so I don't easily complain about that, but I used to live next door to a drummer and that eventually drove me crazy too, so I can understand the other party.

That's true, which is why it's cool that they also posted the soundproofing guide

(which I now realize was already posted in this thread, sorry )

I just love the thought of someone opening an envelope... (OK OK far too retro) I mean opening an email... at the Cornwall Council, and reading the words:

Dear Cornwall Council,

My name is David Grohl...

Can you fucking imagine it at the office that day... too awesome for words.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Clearly the shock wore off - the council responded (pretty reasonably in fact):
http://www.mi-pro.co.uk/news/read/co...bles-on/020954

And local retailer PMT got involved and the band say on TW have solved it:
http://www.mi-pro.co.uk/news/read/pm...cil-row/020960

Now, MI retail giant PMT has got involved, emphasising the importance of adequate rehearsal time and space for young bands and, most importantly, providing Black Leaves of Envy with a full soundproofing kit from Auralex Soundproofing.

“Our shops are full of guys and girls wanting to play in bands and be rock stars,” said PMT’s Carly Crowder. “There are loads of studies that tell us why musical education is so important but we all know only too well how many times we’ve been told to ‘turn it down’ but the fact is the biggest bands and artists did start in garages or in bedrooms, or just about anywhere they could get their hands on a space big enough to play in.

“It’s all about practise and passion in our industry and we should be encouraging this now for our next generation of musicians.”

I can't believe PMT are now a 'retail Giant'. I remember buying all my old guitar gear from their original tiny store in Southend in the mid 90s, and now I see them all over the bloody country

And you used to be able to wander in - find what you want in minutes and go. Now it will take half an hour, won't be the same quality, and if you want what you really needed will prob be a back order - if they can be bothered. Giant is usually a very good prefix for giant pain in the ass.
