I was hoping KROQ wouldn't be involved with the LA gig since it makes it harder to attend...the Foos' 2011 secret gigs were just the 'lineup early & buy tickets' method, but apparently that won't happen this time...

curious where this gig is, and when - since the KROQ contest doesn't even mention the date...

For what it's worth...

Was just listening to KROQ- and they specifically mentioned in the promo that it's the "The ONLY way to get into the show".

Sounds like tickets may not even go on sale to the public. I'm bummed if this is the case.

Me too. I can't listen to the radio at work and if they're only giving away 5 pairs online, my odds aren't very good. I'm going to think positive though. Someone has to win online, so it could be me.

I'm convinced that there is no way the band can win - nobody is happy with anything they do, apparently.

I would have to agree with you. After the Cubby Bear and Wrigley sell outs, people were wanting them to use Ticketmaster. Then the Ryman sell-out happened and people were mad about Ticketmaster. It really feels like the band can't win like you said.

I'd wager this isn't THE LA show. KROQ has a ton of pull, so my guess is this is a second LA show.

I think this will be an "album release" show on Tuesday, then the real LA show will still be Friday.

I concur with this thought.

Possibly Monday, considering they've made the point to say EVERYWHERE Monday, Nov. 10.

Any guesses as to where? I'm guessing somewhere in the Valley. Paladino's? That's right by 606. Maybe the Troubadour in WeHo? Roxy?

Yes, this is true.

You can't please everyone, so quit freaking trying and do what you want, is my take.

They don't have to do ANY of these secret shows. Not one.

Sorry, thought the album came out on Tuesday, but yeah, it'll likely be Monday.

Looks like the capacity is 150, so my money is on the Troubadour. The Roxy is booked that night.

While I will be bummed if I don't get into any of the small shows, I am happy to see them in a large setting as well. Saw them at Life Is Beautiful and I wasn't on the rail and I shared the experience with at least 30,000 other people and it was amazing. It's at least 2 hours of pure joy so I won't complain about that. Besides, you can't ever please everyone so they should do what they want.

Seriously - this whole "Entitilitis" generation totally sucks. What a bunch of whiners! Enjoy the awesome stuff these guys do for their fans instead bitching about everything you didn't get!

The fact that they even do these shows and charge tiny fees or give away the tickets is more than enough.

I don't anticipate getting into the LA show(s), and that's fine. Not sure anything will ever top being on the rail for the Dragonfly show.

hey don't get me wrong, any Foo gig is a great gig. Not really complaining at all, I'm not one of "those fans"...in fact I wouldn't sulk if I missed out on this batch of LA gigs because I've been pretty spoiled in the past...

KROQ does have that little bunker room studio thing they frequently use for special "live on KROQ" gigs or whatever, that could possibly be it as well

Well, we're all allowed to sulk.

Also, I feel similar in the fact that I've been super lucky and will continue to be lucky. I do remember how it felt when I was on bed rest and couldn't go to a bunch of shows - that was crappy. But honestly, we are all so lucky that this band is SO GENEROUS with their time - in Foo and outside of it. We are really lucky.
