They played LRtR, which I don't think many people would be super excited about, but it has been awhile. They also had But Honestly and I Should Have Known on the setlist, I mean they didn't actually play them but it's interesting, I think.

I do know Dave has a tendency to write songs on the setlist he apparently has no intention of actually playing, though.
They started with Young man blues? Wtf?

From the interview in Hot Press it looks like Slane will be opened with a new cover.

Gonna go ahead and guess Sunday, Bloody Sunday for Slane, but maybe that would just be a bummer. But opening your set with a cover is weird.

I just think it's weird Young Man Blues has stuck around so long - they must justreally like playing it because it doesn't get the best of crowd reactions.

You would think that by playing with Chevy Metal recently, they would have gotten the covers out of their system.

I can't believe they opened up their show with that.

We sold our DC tickets and now I am thinking that was a good thing because I have a feeling it will be full of covers. Hope they come here to KY next year.

There was a time when the FF opening a show with a cover (or playing a bunch of them in the show) would have been considered funny - sort of taking a piss on stadium rock and having fun with the mediocrity of some of the staple songs of that genre.

I just think that if this is supposed to be funny, or fun, or to get the crowd going they are failing badly.

Or then it's just having fun on our expense - "ok so the geeks don't like the covers bit, lets try open the show with one and watch them lose it on the postboard"..

Lol! Yeah, moaning fuckers! Seriously though, opening with a cover will not do them any favours. I can see a muted response, song 2 will be a foos song then the crowd will go bonkers.

If "Sweet Home Alabama'" on setlist.fm is a joke I think that's pretty funny.

Had to scratch those to get the mandatory four covers in obviously.

This was a fun opening cover. Back when covers were a fun rarity.

That's also not classic rock garbage.

Indeed. All of the songs they're doing now come from Chevy Metal setlists so it's probably mostly Taylor's influence.

I think just because Dave said "we have to learn it" doesn't mean it's a cover.

It could be Feast and The Famine. Haven't played it in a while (and didn't play it much last year anyway).

I hate the fact that seems like they're trying hard to become the band they once made fun of. You know, the bloated, champagne fueled predictable stadium crowd pleasers. And failing with the covers. There are lots of great songs that would work as covers with their own stuff if they must have them in the set IMO (they don't have to), but this bar-band thing with the most boring classic rock is just so damn lame.
