Safe to say that it will be DC bands. I'm hoping we get all the good DC bands from the past to the present. However no Afternoon Delight or Ted Nugent.

Yikes 4h of July in DC. That will be totally nucking futs. The last time I was in DC in the 4th was MANY decades ago back when I was still, let's say. doing some chemical experimentation. Word to the wise, never drive a Harley in DC on the 4th of July while you are tripping. How the fuck I survived that day I'll never know. It is the one time I clearly recall being scared totally shitless.

Would love to be able to make this from the UK but I don't think I can afford it. I need to start playing the lotto! Good luck to everyone trying for tickets

As a DC local, I'm STRONGLY advising out of towners to check out the hotel availability and prices first, before committing to tickets. Trying to find a hotel in DC, much less the DC area ON OR AROUND JULY 4th will really be a long shot. In addition to that, downtown DC hotel prices rival NYC's on regular days, so expect to pay a few times the regular rates for July 4th when our city is typically logjammed.

I'd recommend booking a refundable hotel reservation NOW, before tickets go on sale - you can always cancel it if you don't get tickets for the RFK show. That way, you won't get shut out trying to find a place to stay.

Also, keep in mind that there are some not so nice places around town - the area around RFK is very sketchy. Avoid S.E. DC and the close-in PG County side of things. Stick to hotels in N.W. DC, Montgomery County, MD, and Northern VA areas, unless you want to be sitting in traffic for hours. Metro is your friend that day!

Last two posters. Please tell me if this is a good idea for out-of-towners, since I don't know the area that well.

RFK is on the Green Line, is taking the green line to the end, just a few more stops, is that a good idea? Good neighborhood?
I know from the map that it at least takes you away from DC and the cluster that it's gonna be that day.

The Green Line is pretty sketchy throughout, if you're from out of town.

Better to take the Red (MD), Silver (NoVA), Blue (NoVA) or Yellow Line (NoVA) into town and then transfer to the Orange Line, or get on the Orange Line at Vienna or Falls Church and take it to the Stadium/Armory stop.

It'll be a mess on July 4th, but will still be a lot better than driving and trying to find parking in or around RFK, which is pretty dicey.

My mind is spinning at all the possibilities and questions. Lineup? I'm thinking a few of these bands will be on the bill: Chuck Brown, Trouble Funk, Bad Brains, Scream. Maybe Ian McKaye's current band the Evens. No way Fugazi reunites for something as big as this. And if this is a 20th anniverserary show, could we see them do the self-titled record front to back? I would love to see that. And July 4th in DC, as anyone who knows DC, is going to be a nightmare to get around. Add in the summer heat/humidity/chances of thunder and this could be interesting. Can't wait to hear all the details on Thursday!

I can guarantee Chuck Brown won't be on the bill.

He died two years ago.
