Chris recently told a Belgian newspaper that he was really embarrassed during the recordings of this show because he doesn't know any lyrics of the songs and had to look them up on his phone during the karaoke part.

I'm not involved in the process at all and I know a good portion of the lyrics

Not saying he doesn't get short shafted, only saying that he plays/hears these songs enough he should know the lyrics.

I can imagine he has to focus too much on his part of the music to actually listen to the lyrics, though.

Maybe. But he's plays guitar and sings in his own band.I suspect it might have more to do with interest/desire than anything else.

James Corden is a fun, charismatic host, very quick on his feet and seems like a very nice person, this segment is particularly cool because it makes the guests feel much more comfortable and just having fun. I seriously don't get how someone would hate him, not being a fan of the work or the show is perfectly fine but what about someone being an all around cool dude is so nasty to some people? I don't get it at all.

Nobody mentioned hating him. But everyone's mileage varies. You see "all around cool dude" I see sycophantic creep. His snuggling up to Sean Spicer at the Emmys just reinforced that opinion further. Whatever, I'm sure he won't lose any sleep due to the fact I change channels when he comes on.

No I know, it's my own questioning of it, the people who needs defending the least are celebrities, I just wasn't getting where that was coming from. I didn't see the Emmys so I didn't know he did that which is indeed a problem.
