I Am The Highway: A Tribute To Chris Cornell Concert
I haven't seen any mention of this on the boards. I'm super stoked about this show -- Foo Fighters and Metallica on the same bill is a DREAM of mine, and the fact that it's a tribute to Chris Cornell -- whom I've been missing like crazy lately -- is even more awesome! I was lucky enough to score a ticket, and I'll be flying in from Long Island just for the show. I actually sold off all of the tickets I have for concerts in the next month just to swing the cost of the trip, but it's worth it!
Who else is excited about this?

Saw this get announced but the timing is impractical for me to make any arrangements - both geographically and the fact I've just started a new job so taking any sort of extended break so soon isn't on.
I'm a fan of everyone on the lineup I think. Would have loved to have been there, but I just couldn't do it.

Just a week away! My excitement is building! I've compiled a playlist of Foo Fighters, Metallica, Chris Cornell, Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog for the plane trip. I'll probably start listening to it now.

A handful of artists has been added, including Fiona Apple, which is my favoritestestest artist.
To imagine that Foos and Fiona are on the same bill/stage just blows my mind. I hope someone streams this, I would even pay up to $10-ish for a stream hands down.

He'd be sounding like a garbage disposal today but it was well worth it! Vocal performances with this amount of force are scarce - that this was a one-off and a tribute would've left him with no excuse not to go all in on it, but it demonstrated that when he goes beyond the general zone FF works in and flexes those muscles, he can really pack a wallop. He was singing with the essence of Chris to an extent, the way he sounded out the vowels etc., a focus on articulation that is more relaxed in many FF songs. His vocals were showing signs of fatigue toward the end but they mostly held steady through a very hard song. Bravo.
