New album In the works

i want a stripped album, one way or another. i would prefer less instruments on each song. they are six people in the band right now, and not every song needs keys and three guitars. Songs tend to sometimes get lost in the arrangements when things get over-orchestrated. Concrete and gold was a fun album when it was released, but it didnt really last long with me. Going back to a TINTL-sound would be perfect. If the band needs to do concept albums to keep it interesting thats what they have to do, but the have been doing many of them lately.

I didn't think so... It's their best album for a long time IMO, so hoping for a similar no nonsense approach.

A 'new' album on Spotify today - titled 00950025. Two live Reading tracks from the S/T album, and 'Next Year' from Live at the Chapel in 2000. The cover art is a filing cabinet. A mighty strong hint that they've got something in the works for FF25. Besides writing new music, I wouldn't be surprised if they re-released S/T along with outtakes/demos, since Barrett has pulled out some of the old reels.

Completely agree. Feels like a hell of a lot of over production for the sake of it sometimes.

Listening to the first three albums is like listening to a completely different band now.

Im assuming the 00950025 refers to 1995 and 25 years - maybe the other numbers will be a countdown or a numbers of tracks??

Is the fact one of the tracks is Next Year a clue in itself??

We KNEW they would do something for the 25 year anniversary and I suspect we will have several things to look forward to. July 4th is on a Saturday next year which would be a good weekend to do a special birthday show - or several shows.

And in true FF style I expect we will be figuring out clues for the next 6 months at least

Do I remember seeing on Twitter that FF were asking if anyone from the first FF Reading slot in 1995 were going to this year's Reading? With that and them now releasing those tracks from Reading 95 it makes me wonder if they will announce something at this years Reading.

On the anniversary of their 1st UK gig they tweeted pg2 of a Kerrang! review from my website (the telltale blue line from a dodgy scanner gave it away) asking the attendees interviewed if they wanted a Reading reunion, then Reading jumped on board and retweeted it.

Bit cruel as the first page also has gig-goers interviewed too, but they didn't get a shout out.

Wattershed - the definition of watershed (i know different spelling) is 'an event or period marking a turning point in a course of action or state of affairs.' That definitely applies to the first album.

Next Year - 25 years next year.

For all the cows - here's where im way overthinking things lol. Cowes (yes i know its a different spelling) is on the Isle of White - so maybe a headline at Isle of White Festival next year.

Sound is poo at Hyde Park though. Although, convinient for me to attend! I think something like Knebworth is a better shout.
