It really does not matter what they play, it’s a fun show anyway,

However - I do feel kinda tricked to believing there would be a special one with all the hype on social media, the NME article, the T interview..

After all it was the same they did all summer. In fact it was less special to many summer shows as there was more rarities in some more random shows (Stacked Actors / A+ET)..

But, a solid show and always nice to catch a stream like this, no complaints, just hoped it would have lived up to the hype more.

At least they kept the jams short!

BTW check T asking ”WHAT?” when Dave introduces Let There Be Rock, they seem to have no clue about the set list anymore at that point..

Maybe I'm jaded but I always assumed it was 90% hype talk! When they (Dave) talk up something in advance it tends to end up a bit underwhelming - when they really want to drop something special, they just drop it.

That being said I hadn't spoiled myself with recent performances so it was really cool to get I'll Stick Around, Hey JP and For All The Cows. Not a super-special-magical set, but enough nuggets to keep me happy, and they looked like they were having a blast.

They need to catch up with the times though, these days with social media you can't make the same joke 5 times. Mr FrenchEnemies is a casual fan at best, but because he's seen it a bunch of time in his feed before, he was groaning "again?!" at the Rickroll.

So Reading 2012 still remains one of their best ever set lists in terms of rarities. Did you notice how flat the audience went when they played For All The Cows? I’m guessing that’s why they don’t bother so much.

Why the hell do they keep playing Cows? No wonder the crowd goes flat.

Try a real hit instead as they exist. Hell, do Breakout instead.

And yeah the more drunk he is the more he sounds like Paul Stanley. And last night it was more than I’ve probably ever seen before..

I watched the broadcast last night on BBC4 and was mightily disappointed. Now, normally I'll defend Dave and the boys to the death, but from what I saw, I thought they were sloppy and unrehearsed and at times just going through the motions. Also, the Rick Astley thing is a joke that is just not funny any more.

What next? Cruise Ships and Vegas residency? I'm hoping they go back to what they used to be - a truly fantastic rock band. C'mon boys, not only is your make-up running, but it looks like you're beginning to forget where you came from.

I agree on sloppy, I mean Rami was totally out of it at times.

Still a fun show, Dave’s voice was great and T was in good form!

I think Fail nailed it on one of those Facebook groups. You can be disappointed with the set list but still enjoy the show. Kind of how I felt. Saw weenie beanie was supposed to be on the set but wasn’t played. And let’s face it - 90% of people in that crowd where I was (20 rows from the front) have no idea about I’ll stick around/cows etc which is a real shame. I am always astonished at how many people put their hands up to the “who’s never seen foo fighters before” question too.

Regardless a fun show and I was pleased I went -

I’m glad I was there for that one. Couldn’t face Reading this year. I don’t know why they continue to churn out Cows, it always has that effect, unless at a secret gig or whatever. It doesn’t work with big crowds.

That was a big standout, Dave's vocals seemed in great shape tonight and sustained him all the way through, even after he gave it more gusto in 'La Dee Da' which I thought would be the point where it went to shreds. So on that note, it was a good performance! I also really liked the feel of the 'Run' extended outro.

In Glasgow it was apparent that half the crowd don't know their earlier stuff well especially self titled and surprisingly TCATS.

A lot of people in the crowd last weekend were subdued when I'll Stick Around and Hey, JP were played. The latter is more surprising considering TCATS is considered their best.

I was punching the air and jumping around while others had blank looks on their faces.

I didn't watch last night's show as I prefer not to over play music.

But that becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, surely? Don't play them as often, people don't tend to be inclined to listen to them, they'll get a worse reaction next time.

The point I made to chris on Twitter. If they gain a reputation for only playing the hits, it’s all people will will listen to. Get a reputation for playing old stuff and people listen to full albums

Yeah this is something I have to keep reminding myself.

Side note - They’ve got to stop Rami turning all the old school rockers into Tiny Dancer, I absolutely hate it! He kept playing some awful whirring synth sound which sounded awful to my ears 😂

It's a cycle of their own making, if you do mix up the setlists people will possibly broaden out from just listening to the hits, if you just stick to the tried and tested then you won't get reactions from when you play "rarities" from those who are casual fans - you'll still get that to an extent but not as much maybe.

Said this elsewhere - Jaded with the setlists, enjoyed the show.
