The musician, who directed the video for the group's latest single, "The Sky Is a Neighborhood," says that he was inspired by an unlikely musical source: Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Some have also speculated that it might partly be a tribute to the rock musicians we lost in 2016 (ie, Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, etc.) and how they're now up in the sky raising havoc, so to speak.

I like to think that the line "the sky is a neighbourhood, so keep it down" refers to the argument that we really shouldn't be sending probes/signals into space, because we don't know if life out there is friendly and we may not want to advertise our presence, just in case. But maybe that's just me

to me... -
it seems about all our favorite artists that have passed away and SOME, (MANY MANY MANY) that have unnecessarily passed away due to OD on drugs, and/or depression and/or mental illness.

so how do we comfort ourselves but to say

the sky is a neighborhood.....oh my dear heaven is a bang now...keep it down!
(so we are hoping they are rocking on in some other stratosphere!!)

I often wonder why we have these brilliant gifted artisits with all the money in the world and they cant seem to use this money to educate themselves for how to keep from becoming just another statistic or to get good mental healthcare that helps them get better at taking care of themselves and their families.
