Default Trl Uk 2003

This is my five-yearly request for this video.

First ever TRL UK episode, August 2003. They played Times Like These, acoustic. Also Angelina Jolie invited all of us in the audience to the premiere of Tomb Raider 2.

Does anybody have it? Youtube has every video ever besides this one.

Yeah still missing I'm afraid. I'm sure someone out there has it sitting around on a VHS somewhere but it hasn't turned up online.

Yeah, I've got it.

I move house in October so the box of Foo tapes will come down from the loft & if I've labelled it correctly I'll get my Dad to convert it.

Across all the tapes I've got other bits not on YouTube but I don't own a VHS player.

Good stuff. Yeah there is a fair bit of TV stuff that is missing or only available in shit quality, I'll have to make a list at some point. In fact I feel like I did a few years ago and posted a thread, I'll look for it.

EDIT: Yeah here - http://bbs.foofighters.com/showthread.php?t=159131

A few of those are now available though, so I'll relist what isn't.

Oh yeah. I even replied to that thread saying I'd look into conversion - Although this time I have to get those boxes from the loft, so I'll see what they turn up.

I have the video, I now have a VHS player, I even have software on the MacBook to convert it... I just need the time to add it all together.

Right. VHS to digital converter has arrived, so it's now just a case of going through the (mostly unlabelled) VHS tapes until I find it.

Nice one Paul, if you keep track of what stuff is on them I can let you know if they're needed, but you probably know most yourself.

Yeah. There's stuff I definitely know isn't online, but I'm sure I'll come across stuff I forgot even existed.

Finally found the tape it was on, but as you can see it's pretty duff quality. I'll see what I can do.

Well, duff is better than nothing. I can probably clean it (and any others) up if you want to send me the raw files. What are you transferring with?

Some Roxio grabber thing, then I'll see how it shapes up in iMovie. It's levelled out a little now so I'm letting the whole show play through for fear of making it jumpy again if I FFwd. So I'm experiencing the delights of Busted & Blazing Squad. On the up side I also found some cassettes I'd forgotten about including the Radio One broadcast of Glastonbury 98.

EDIT: https://youtu.be/FXKQlznLDPE

Here you go Rob, it's such poor quality that it's only about 2% better than never seeing it again.

The picture quality got progressively worse as the episode went on. The section with the band & Angelina Jolie was absolutely mangled as was the bit were they oversaw the kid getting his armpit waxed. The beginning of the VHS has their televised songs from V2001 and that's fine, as I was in the audience for TRL I must have had someone else record it for me, which would explain the damage to the actual tape inside the VHS.

Well, it's something I guess, thanks Paul.

If you need any audio cassettes transferred I know someone who can do them professionally with an expensive pro deck and such, let me know. That Glasto 98 broadcast is definitely another thing that has gone missing over the years, so would be good to hear.

It's:
Monkey Wrench
Alone & Easy Target
Big Me
I'll Stick Around
This Is A Call (- which has been cut by the BBC to be beginning/end).

I'll see what else I have first before arranging to send it on. Also I wouldn't be surprised if 6 Music's archive show played it out again in the run up to this year's festival.

Ok, no problem. I did consider that, or FF themselves may put something up as they did before Reading 2015.
