You know how it's the done thing to break a leg at a Foo Fighters concert... I mean there's a HUGE number of people doing it right??

Well I'm just an amateur - small fracture to the top of my fibula confirmed today after 3 weeks thinking I just blew out 2 knee ligaments plus serious grazes etc... tripped running to the stage at Auckland from the very front of the waiting GA crowd.

It's a hilarious tale - with even more hilarious photos to come. Try this synopsis - you can touch the barrier at the final hold gate b4 the run to GA. You "break" your leg getting to the stage - you still make the third row. You can touch the barrier at the stage. Yeti throws you one of Dave's pics which you palm and it bounces into the top of the one guy in front's raincoat hat. Everyone is searching for it and his girlfriend saw you palm it and where it landed and HE insists it's yours...

20 minutes later your knee looks like a the Michelin man is a dude at week 30 of weight watchers... and your watch says you have 5 hours more at the front of the mosh pit...

Photos and video 15 mins later at the St Johns ambulance fighting them to NOT send you to hospital for x-rays...

Red Badge security private escort in a golf cart winding ALL the way up the side path through all the security gates waaaay back to the south stand to deposit you smack bang in the centre of the 3rd row from the back - pretty much EXACTLY where you were in another life in the exact opposite direction 40 minutes ago - perfectly timed for the start of Weezer... as the rain pisses down and doesn't stop for the next 4 hours....

Sitting at the very back of the gig with your leg in the air wrapped in ice waving Dave's CG Concrete pick at people as they stop and ask "What the Fuck" in the pissing rain...

Nice one! Is that is the slimline case with the artwork? DO you have the big digipack part one it goes into? FYI while I'm on that subject the orig versions of that part one cow Digipak also have a circular "paper" cd as a placeholder for part 2.

How I miss all that cool promo stuff <SIGH>

Now and then I see something and go "wow I havent seen one of those in a LONG time". It's pretty rare these days that I start scratching my head and going hmm have I seen one? Ever?

So with something like this, especially with it being a T-Shirt, my first reaction is - good one - nice new fake... and then i see enough to know well fuck me - it's definitely NOT!

The tag and the cracking in the print both prove this has to be one of the earliest band portrait T-Shirts ever sold. And that's the exact This Is A Call letterprint for FOO FIGHTERS too.. Reportedly from the first tour. If I have ever seen it before I don't remember. Anyone know or remember it?

Two-sided shirt (not 2 shirts)

Very interesting tee Mike. On a related subject, do you happen to have any nice promo pieces with that Foo Fighters font in a large, clear format to scan? I'm trying to make a vector version of it by tracing but all of the stuff I have on music releases is either too small resulting in fuzzy edges when scanned at moderate DPI, or it's the version with a big drop shadow.

I just miss the myriad of musical releases in general.

Nothing Foo for RSD unfortunately.

I am assuming the part 2 is in the slimline case...I do have part 1 in the big digipak and it does have the circular placeholder in it.

Quite shocked and disappointed there is nothing this year tbh.

I don’t remember that tee. I reckon it’s a bootleg. Especially as those photos come from two different magazine shoots circa Dec-95.

In the mid/late 90s UK music magazines frequently had ads for music clothing and “Exclusive Asian Tour T-Shirts” which usually translated as bootlegs.

I agree it's certainly a high possibility it's an OLD bootleg. I badly want it to be a rare limited that was actually sold at shows, and it does swing highly to being a US creation regardless because of the tag, but yeah the fact I'd never seen it had me much feeling it was real but totally ready to be wrong - hence asking though feeling it was good.

And it really needed to be mid - mid/late 95 for that to feel right even then, so you adding the info on mag shoots for the images with those dates doesn't kill it outright but does make both the timing feel off AND add the availability right there to boot them - especially in black and white on black.

Paid $25 for it so even as a boot it's still a nice curio piece. Thanks for the info.

Great on that placeholder - it's one of those funky things - I had three copies of it before I finally got one where it hadn't been thrown away by people tossing it to add the 2nd CD and then splitting to sell separately or fill it with part 2.

I guess there is always the chance they decide to go mad an do another impromptu EP in a hotel / roof top / bar / garage / caravan park / barge / light air balloon / train....

Sadly the space station is prob pretty well booked out by NASA

Hoping they'll release a live video this tour, but that probably wouldn't be until it's over, maybe November-ish for the holiday sales.

Need something. Wasn't even any special editions for the album this time around, just the extra Vinyl version. Where are our 2CD editions, Special Tour Edition, etc.

Yes hoping for something somehow someway sometime soonish... all very definitive isn't it! Fair play they are kinda busy just fucking playing music... so there's that

I can scan a nice 12 inch cover for the font at high res - tiff even - (fit wise even A3 scanners don't like full 12x12 covers, though the text is inside that region so should be Ok) or worst case a 7".

But my first thought is we're talking 4th 5th or 6th gen here so I just said to myself fuck it and asked the creator

He's pretty fast with email if hes not backed up on projects so I should know pretty soon even if he knows he has xyz somewhere to look for. He doesnt trash anything - For All The Cows promo art design drawings are a pretty funky example. I'd share but on promise not to as things stand right now, so just a for instance that it's highly possible he can and will have a "best" source - and I'm guessing prob be OK to share the text only...

Have sent the busy man on a mission ha!

Answered this today pointing at image one. Will let you know what he comes back with.

I can say that the last font shouldn't be ignored - it has a very special significance that I hope gets shared at some point. Shitty storyteller that I am I know

I mean it'd certainly be cool to see all of those as vectors/plain images or the font name but yeah, it was the first one without the drop shadow I was specifically looking for.
