Default Australian Releases

Is there a good list of Australian releases anywhere? Official releases and any other promos.

I have a few things already but I'm off to Australia for a few weeks in April and I'm going to scour some of the indie record shops to see if they've got anything lying around.

Additionally, if anybody is interested I can pick up extras and ship from the UK when I get back.

All three Australian Tour Editions of the first three albums are nice to have, so look out for those.

Also: The Aussie tour edition for ESPG. Wasnt it a few extra tracks and a promo DVD from Hyde Park on that?

Ah yeah forgot that one. I've never got round to purchasing any 'alt' versions of ESP&G for some reason, just have the UK CD and 12". I think it had a t-shirt as well.

I got the regular plus the Japanese Tour Edition. Never bought the aussie cause it was cheaper to buy the japanese.
But i got both UK and US pressing of the vinyl.

Cool suggestions, thanks. I have the Aus TINLTL. The tattoo of the FF's on the arm inspired my own. Opposite arm though. I love the red disc in this set, it's badass!

I've also got the Walking After You Aus card sleeve coming this week. Probably overpaid for it but I've never seen it before and it was a buy it now so I jumped without thinking!

Any good discography sites to track these things? I use discogs dot com but it's full of dupes which is a bit annoying.

Studmore is working on one. Otherwise you can just ask here probably someone will know a thing or two about what you are asking. Some people have tons of knowledge about these things around here

I don't know about Melbourne but in Sydney your best bet is Utopia, red eye records, that kind of thing. I was there a few months ago but no luck, I picked up "Foo Fighters in America" which is a bootleg DVD. I wish there were more rare stuff type shops, i'm sick of going to every FF section and seeing the same ones.

Wow! Thanks for sorting that out, much appreciated! Don't suppose you have a scan of DIP do you? lol!

Also, I have the Stacked Actors promo, but it's not slimline. Signed by Dave though. Oh yeah!

Cool - what format is the SA case? Is the number the same as what I listed?

Here are some photos of the DIP Promo - nothing special about it, except its absurdly rare. I have no idea on the numbers pressed, but it is all wrong in the title, and of course it never was finally released as a single, never even finally made in to the second album, its early Foo and its not a CDR. All of those things together put somewhere in the top rarities list as far as I'm aware.

I know there is a similar type of Aust release for the Avril Lavigne song Mobile, Ive seen several copies of that sold on Ebay in the last 2-3 years, and they have often gone for hundreds of US dollars - one was something crazy like 400. Neither of them are on Discogs, which is a good indication of how rare they are when you know they exist. Almost certainly my most valuable Foo item.

In the plain slimline case it came in:

Woah! That is sweet! Nice job!

I think it's this one (hope links are working now):

http://www.discogs.com/Foo-Fighters-...elease/1847726

Although I note this is US, and my disc says printed in the US but I always thought this was Aus only??

It's in a thick CD case, like albums come in. It's sealed so I'm hesitant to open it up and poke around for any other details.

Also, I got this years ago and I forgot that it's actually signed by Dave, Nate, Taylor and Chris. I believe the COA is inside but I never opened it lol!

I can get some scans sorted if necessary, if we can get our own community discography up and running, I'm more than happy to contribute. Not sure how rare some of the stuff I have actually is.

Off the top of my head some of my rarities are Pocketwatch, 1x1 promo cassette (only 30??) and the FATC cassette. When I got that one people doubted its existence so I'm pretty certain that one is rare! Only cost me 2 EUR too lol!

Nice items, and yes most of those are plenty rare. Your SA is the standard US promo. When people talk about releases they often mean the singles that were commercially sold. Stacked Actors was Australia only, but it came out as an official promo CD in the USA and in Mexico, maybe even elsewhere. What you describe is exactly that - full CD case etc. It wont have any COA - and it doesn't need one.

Since promos in 1999 would have gone pretty much only to radio stations and record stores, a sealed one would be quite rare as the stations in particular usually opened them as soon as they were received regardless of whether they were ever played or not - no point having a DJ fucking about with a wrapper!

A promo that was never released as a single is also in the rarer end, though there are quite a few of these US ones about, But one signed by Dave and the whole band and sealed, don't even think of opening it. My value guess would be 50 to 70 US to the right person.
