Default Underrated FF songs

This could maybe go in the Frequent Post section, but whatever. Jill, Tim, Simon, or whoever--feel free to move it.

I got thinking about this tonight while driving. There are bunch of tracks on all their albums that didn't get much or any radio play but probably could've held their own as singles--or at the very least been widely appreciated by people with a less than casual interest in the Foo Fighters.

Songs that immediately come to mind:

"Oh, George"
"Hey, Johnny Park!" -- I could just be wrong on this one. Maybe it's more popular than I realize outside of FF fans, but they could release it as a single today and it would crush the airwaves.
"Gimme Stitches"
"M.I.A."

What have you guys got? There are probably a bunch of B-sides that would've made some noise, too.

I love "New Way Home" but I don't know if it would work as a stand-alone. It's awesome on TCATS but as a single?

Yeah New Way Home is a great song, but I don't think it would do great as a single. I feel the same about Walk, it's just weird on it's own.

And I agree about Hey, Johnny Park! having an obvious hit single quality.

"Hey, Johnny Park!" ... "Gimme Stitches" and "Enough Space" for sure -- and I'll throw a b-side out there: "Walking The Line". And one of my favorites, which I guess the Foos don't like much (as they've never played it live) ... "Stranger Things Have Happened"

"Lonely As You" - although I like the MDD version better.

"But, Honestly" - That's been used in a couple ad campaigns, I thought it fit well.

"Aurora" - because it deserves more attention.

Walking a Line is a really good one. Wind Up is one of my favorite songs also.

Totally agree. The Million Dollar Demos version is also mind blowing.
Interesting video about Dave's opinion on the song:

I guess he dissed it cause they've never played it live before. If they decided to play it right there, they would probably have to come up with a live-version of it since that acoustic part might be hard to play live.

Finally someone else besides me mentions Gimme Stitches. That track is a killer

Also will add Lonely As You, See You, Headwires, World and most tracks off of IYH Disc 2

Headwires for the longest time was my fav foo tune. Live-in Skin would be good as well and Next year should have gotten more attention. Good single that one was. Alone + Easy Target, and Floaty as well. Walk to me sounded nice on the album, but never thought of it as single material.

Pat Smear is actually an android. During one memorable show in England he short circuited, electrocuting Dave whose hair then caught fire

Chris: "You guys, I couldn't hear myself out there."
Dave: "We all heard ya, man."
Taylor: "Yeah, we heard you just fine."
Chris: "Oh. Well, ok..."

I really think it'd kill as a single, even now.

i agree with all of you, but i got to mention in particular "hey jp"...

maybe not the best one of those mentioned here, but probably the most obviously single potential song they have ever made. How that one did not get released as a single with an awesome video is way beyond me. Its one of those songs that you recognize the first seconds, and the chorus is a great singalong (not to mention the last verse).

im pretty sure someone suggested it as a single, so the question is, who the hell said no to that?

im not really complaining, because their fame as a band should not have been rushed any more, but i still find this to be weird, marketing-wise.

maybe someone said "no, you will be way to popular if you release this as a single, and it would not be healthy for you as a band considering where you're at right now."

again.. not the best song, but the best single.
