I saw a band called Foo Fathers and they were excellent, London based. They are doing a gig in June where they play TCATS in full at the o2 academy Islington.

Some of the tribute bands are great. The AC/DC one I saw (with 2 different front men for the 2 eras) were superb, think they were called Dirty DC but I can't remember.

The bigger acts like the Bootleg Beatles and the Australian Pink Floyd show are incedible, they take it up to the next level.

I don't think dressing like Dave, acting like Dave, buying the same guitars and just about everything else is what he meant by the next level.

Really really want to see those (also Bjorn Again!) Dad's seen thw Bootleg Beatles and said they kicked major ass, same about Bjorn Again. I have somw brilliant pics of 'Freddie Mercury from when his work got them to play after a meeting!

Tribute acts generally try to emulate their heroes Simon. The Bootleg Beatles don't look and dress like The Beatles....... I think so!

It's all good amigo..... Taylor thought it was cool when I met him at Studio 606 in 2011. Taylor, "Hey, you kinda look like Dave, same t-shirt, same guitar... bit skinnier though..... cool!".

Seems to be cool with at least one Foo man so I'm happy with that.
Hopefully he did pass on my flyer to Dave..... one day eh!

I don't know. I think its creepy and unnecessary to dress like Dave. On stage I can MAYBE sort of understand it, but when you actually MEET Foo Fighters? Your day to day life? NOPE.

With a band like The Beatles I can understand it because they had a clear image and two of them are now no longer with us. The real thing can never exist again. Even if they did they would never have the 60s image that the cover band do. So in that way it makes sense.

Dave does still exist as does the whole band obviously so it just seems bizarre to me. Even more so when you're the only one in the band that does it, the rest of the band don't seem to bother.

I have no problem with cover bands just playing songs they love for fun, nothing wrong with that, but dressing exactly like them, wearing the same clothes and ever trying to emulate their posture and movements is just weird. Be yourself, not someone else.

Oh and Taylor is a nice guy, I'm sure he wouldn't have said anything if he thought it was weird.

Fanship takes on many forms, people were dressing and emulating Elvis before he passed away. Dave Grohl is the Elvis Presley of our time. I've seen the guys live over a dozen times.... I'm a massive fan (same age as Dave). I wouldn't be headlining festivals and touring O2 Academy's if there wasn't a demand for what we do. I'm living the dream.....

That's all I have to say. Happy (as administrator Simon) for you to delete this thread. I'm all for positive energy when it comes to Foo Fighters.

I could be doing worse things on this planet..... have you read the news recently!
