I've tried to see them 2-3 times on their last tours lately. They've never played the same setlist twice. I'd buy a number of official boots if they made them available. Generally the setlists are near identical, an odd song may change but it's pretty much the same, often down to the same 'banter' and chat.

Quality bootlegs with varying sets are scattered across the tours for the first 3 albums. This is when the set would be different each night, from the first to the last song. There's heaps of great quality soundboard/radio broadcast sets, minus all the extended jams, that you would be best to go for than multiple recordings of the same set for this tour.

The one off shows and festivals do tend to be different - different time scales and situations. The arena tours as far as I've observed have tended to be the same, although the last few years there's been more changes in guests and covers, so that does give it a tiny variety.

It doesn't bother me, I'm still happy to go.

Let's be clear here, FF have NEVER been a band with wildly varying sets on the same tour. The first tour it's excused of course, since they only had one album, but even after that things wouldn't vary greatly. The order, maybe, but never huge variations in the actual songs. They're not PJ, never have been, never will be.

I could go on, but you get the point. Sure, there was always the odd show here and there where they did something a little different, club gigs etc, but for the vast majority of shows on tours they've always stuck to the same, fairly rigid setlists.

I know. I have hundreds of their bootlegs along with other artists either in flac format or vinyl/cds that I've bought back before torrent sites became popular. Some boots are really good, some others, not so much. They could release a show every night of every show. And as Simon said, they've stuck to the same setlist almost every tour. They're not Pearl Jam, Widespread Panic, Gov't Mule or Bruce Springsteen as far as setlists go. Never will be. I'd still like the option to buy an official boot of the show I attended and a few others on the night they break out something different.

The primary sales of anything like that would always be people at the show wanting a memory, the numbers of people buying multiple shows, even if they were radically different, would still be low. But anyway this has been brought up a few times and as far as we know it's not something the band or label are currently interested in doing.

I stopped by the Record Connection on Wednesday to say Hi to Jeff. He's still on cloud nine and swamped. Lots of new people coming into the store which has to be amazing for his business! Even Ross Halfin is out of his tshirts because Dave wore his at the event. LOVE IT.

I think if they switched up their set lists quite a bit then the numbers wouldn't be as low as you think. Still, with the current technology, I don't see why they don't at least give it a try. It would be another revenue stream and if it doesn't take off then there isn't a lot lost since there isn't a ton of risk involved.

Basically they only need to press up cd's that are ordered so no mass stock lying around.

I think that is how nugs does it. They offer MP3, FLAC, FLAC-HD, ALAC, ALAC-HD and cd's and produce the cd's on demand.

Damn, that was a fuking rad time!! I'm so grateful to these guys and those I've met because of these guys. They are responsible for so many ridiculously huge grins on my face and incredible memories.
