I was never really into collecting the cds. I've bought most of the singles on cd as they came out (including this is a call when I was 6 or 7...I liked "fingernails are pretty, fingernails are good" for some reason ) but I never really kept them and they all eventually got lost or broken or something. They turn up every now and then in the wrong boxes and stuff.
I also have all the albums on cd but I lend them to friends and stuff and don't particularly mind if they get back to me.

CD's just never really seemed to have much value to me. Of course I only started collecting vinyl recently so I always got new albums on cd rather than on vinyl or download which I hate but I never took care of them the way I do with my vinyl collection. Once I had a lossless rip of the cd I didn't really mind what happened to it. CD's are just too cheap or something. Not that they don't cost enough...they just don't seem to have the same value. I'm rambling a lot tonight

DOA 7" vinyl was actually the first item in my Foo collection and my first ever won eBay auction. So far I'm planning on buying Resolve vinyl single and Rope vinyl single.

I have only Medium Rare and Echoes... is on it's way, so I'm a vinyl-virgin (but it sounds GREAT, I love it!).

THEN Wasting Light will be my next and I wish I had the 4 LP Box from IYH...

I only have ESPG, Greatest Hits, Wasting Light, and Medium Rare and a few 7 inch singles. But I really am planning on working hard to complete my collection in a few months once those ebay prices come down a little bit. Also I am playing it all on a old school record player which sounds very nice.

Also added to cool non-foo stuff: Rumours by Fleetwood Mac LP, original pressing, excellent condition, autographed by the band, picked it up for €21!!!!

Hehe, yeah, spinning vinyl is all I do at home. Not because I feel every album I have sounds better than a cd, but because it is a great experience every time. Last night we sat out on our deck, firepit going, drinking some beer and playing records on the outdoor speakers all night. Love it. Screw iPods....hehe.

Yeah, Tulsa will be great. Would be nice to meet the board members there!

Yeah I think once you get into vinyl nothing else ever lives up to it. Not just sound wise. Nothing beats the whole experience of it.

All foo stuff for me, although my dads got loads stashed around the house never really had a chance to go through them though.
Its a pretty ancient JVC L-E20
Not that ive played many yet. Need to find some time to sit down and have an evening with them. Maybe even use my beer cozie while listening

You gotta go through your Dad's stuff and claim the best ones for yourself and then you can post those too!
And just because your turntable is old doesn't mean it's bad...mine is new and it's pretty bad so age isn't really a factor! (By the way if 88 refers to 1988...very good year!)

Some day I'm gonna sit down and listen to my entire collection too! Maybe when I get a new turntable during the summer, so I can appreciate it more.

thats my plan, although i might just have a fight on my hands. hes pretty precious about them. my plan is to buy him some frames to put his faves in, that way he has to go through the whole collection and i can pilfer some of them! i can't even imagine what he's got, the guy has listened to alot of different music in his time.

(and yes 88 is as in 1988, my year. be it yours too? or is there another reason for it being a good year?)
