I am not complaining. I just think it's funny how some people, just because they have more posts than others, think they are better.
Any explanations to that, comments?

I've honestly never noticed that attitude on this board. People have been friendly since day one.

Now if your a noob and you come in with a stupid question, don't read the forum rules, only sign up to say some shit and start trouble or type in that annoying internet shorthand (lame)....then you deserve the crap you get. Just try to post intelligently.....and not do the repetitive thing. The search function is your friend when your a noob.

Of course if you ask a stupid question and all that you deserve what you get, but lately I have read posts by so-called "newbies" that talked about stuff in the new album and other things and they were just ignored, not before being told how they sucked.
Again, I am not complaining because I try to keep a low profile (I guess not anymore) and post relatively smart things (at least i think so...) and no one gives me crap, but I do think it's funny how others think they are better, or a bigger Foo Fighters fan just cause they have more posts.
Please no misinterpretations: I respect those who have been here for a long time and I am aware that I do not know everything there is to know about Dave or the Foos, but I don't think anyone does...

Exactly. For some reason, people think they are better because they liked the foos longer, or have been posting here longer. Those people are just plain fuckwads. The more that like the foos and interact here, the better for all of us!

It's words on the internet. Ignore them.

Except for mine. Mine are important.

I'm moving this to Discussions but really, we encourage people not to be assholes but we sometimes fall on deaf ears.

Honestly, I think the vast majority of people couldn't give a damn what the post count or registered date are. If you say something new, interesting, or funny, it will get you respect

The newbies who usually take the verbal thrashing are asking repeat questions, ignoring the FAQ and proper forums or just have a certain arrogance coming into the board that the natural inclination is to knock em down a peg or two

Also, I think it helps if you establish an identity for yourself, so people recognize who you are when you post. Probably the best way to do that is to find or create a unique avatar, and come up with something witty to put in your signature.

Happy posting!

The only ones that kinda bug me are the ones that post really dumb questions that could be answered if they just took the time to look through some threads not but 2 down the line. In result we just get a lot of unnecisary threads started by noobs that make a lot of poeple have to sort through them to find the thread they may have been posting in for a while..which is just a hassle....but meh who cares eh!

Respect by post count means nothing. Stu is approaching 30000 and he is still my bitch.

Exactly, if you have a high post count it usually indicates you're a spam whore who spends too much time in Foo Free which is hardly a respectable thing.

Who ever said that 'respect' was important on a postboard?

2355 posts in 4 and a bit years = The perfect post/day ratio.

Perhaps the problem is that a thread in which some eejit noob is getting flamed for a retarded or inflammatory remark, is far more memorable than one where some new guy posts a great new link or interview in general foo.

Hence it looks like there's more noob bashing than there actually is.

P.s i'll say again, in the past few weeks there's been a few gems unearthed by 'noobs' in gen foo and i'm reading a lot more threads in there now than i have in a long while.

It makes me smile. I'm a "newbie" and have had shit from some idiots. I'm 40 years old, I saw Zeppelin with John Bonham. I saw "Dave's former band" at the Queens Hall in Bradford before anyone (including me) knew who they were. However, because I've got a post count of 5 it means I'm fair game for some spotty virgin from Buckfutt, Idaho to give me abuse. The internet is a wonderful thing and all elements of humanity are represented right here on this board.

Actually, I've gotten a bashing for being a "Newbie" and "posting in the wrong area". Oh the horror!! Just ignore them. Sad bastards. And visit the forum on my site. No discrimination in that wee message board. I promise...

The only thing I dislike is people who tell some (usually new) poster to 'fuck off' for giving some completely impersonal opinion on a seemingly trivial subject. I mean, why waste your time?
